Children, service, faith and leadership are the cornerstones of Mrs. Julie Olson's 28 years in the field of preschool and elementary education. Named Assumption School's principal in June of 2018 after serving for a short time as assistant principal, she continues in her teaching role with 4th and 5th grade students bringing joy and learning while fostering a love of learning and excellence in her students.
Not new to the role of principal, Mrs. Olson previously served as the principal of St. James Catholic School in Rockford, Illinois where she held other various roles in her 17 years from assistant principal to 4th grade teacher, librarian, and preschool aide/teacher.
Family and Interests:
Mrs. Olson is married 25 years to her husband Rob, with one son, Michael, who is a graduate student in Applied Meteorology.
She enjoys running/walking, hiking, and exploring the area now called home.
