Mrs. Janet Kimball has been involved in the field of education for over 15 years as a substitute teacher and classroom teacher in both public and Catholic schools. Earning her degree from the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut was just the start of her adult learning as she continues to enhance her formal education taking classes at several colleges in a variety of focus areas with the most recent as a language and literacy graduate candidate with Lesley University.
Earning her certification to teach first in English,
then Social Studies, as these are both passionate interests she loves sharing with her students - reading, writing, and learning about the world we live in - Mrs. Kimball joined the Assumption School faculty in the fall of 2017.
Prior to teaching, Mrs. Kimball's early career was in the computer field where she worked as a computer programmer and systems analyst before taking time out to raise a family with her husband, Kris. Excellence is evident in her family, having two daughters, Haley and Kristy who are now grown and busy with their own careers - Haley working in San Diego with children on the autism spectrum and Kristy as an architect in Philadelphia.
In her spare time you can find Mrs. Kimball reading, writing, doing calligraphy, or helping her gardens to thrive. She also enjoys Pilates, walking with her dog Coco, and cross country skiing in the winter. Her favorite activity is traveling to explore unique places to learn about the history, art, architecture, cuisine, and culture to then share with her students!
