Dear Assumption School Families:
By now, we have all absorbed the news that our principal, Mr.
John Piselli, will be leaving Assumption School in the middle of February to answer God’s call to work with older youth who have aged out of wonderful programs like Boys Town but have, as yet, no stable programs or places to live after they reach age eighteen. Our loss here at Assumption School will be others’ gain. Mr. Piselli will bring his deep love for God and his devotion to young people to his new situation where he will, no doubt, do much good … just as he did here as Principal of Assumption School. We pray God’s blessings upon Mr. Piselli as he goes forward to face this new opportunity with its own set of challenges and we give thanks to God for John’s time with us at Assumption School. Thank you, John, for all you have given … you made a difference!
When it comes to the administration of Assumption School,
we are thrilled to welcome Mrs. Julie Olson, who continues to
teach our fourth grade, back to the Principal’s position she
held for four years. She is happy to return now as the school’s Principal and will finish out this school year and the next year in that dual role as Teaching - Principal. Mrs. Gayle Teixeira continues in her role as Dean of Students and Finance Officer, as well as the million other ways she has selflessly served the Assumption School community for so
many years.
Finally, Fr. Dan Mulcahy continues as Pastor in his oversight of our school and our two parishes in Millbury, St. Brigid and Our Lady of the Assumption.
Hopefully, with this familiar Administrative Team still in
place, the mission of our wonderful Assumption School can
continue to move forward and our children and families can be well-served.
Thank you as always for your support. Assumption School
would not be the gem that it is without you.
