Educating the Whole Child:
Mind, Body and Spirit.
Dear Assumption Families,
On February 9th, Governor Baker lifted the Mask Mandate in the Commonwealth for K-12 schools as of February 28th. The decision to lift the mask mandate has been left up to the individual schools and districts. Assumption School's administration met, and we have decided to put into place a mask optional plan. At any point should our Covid numbers increase, in order to reduce the in-school transmission of the virus, we will put our previous masking policy back into place: Masking in all common areas, in church, and when working in small groups within the classroom.
Because many of our families are traveling over February break, we will begin the optional mask wearing on Monday, March 7th to keep our students and staff healthy.
If you would like your child to be masked during the day, please let their teacher know so we can keep an eye on that.
We (along with DESE and DPH) encourage those that have not been vaccinated to mask (with our previous policy).
Here are a few reminders:
We encourage you to discuss the importance of the choice that each family makes with your child(ren). We will not tolerate any teasing if someone chooses to wear or not wear a mask. This is a personal decision for each family and each of us has a different view that needs to be respected whether you think it is right or wrong.
Thank you-
Mrs. Olson
