GRADE 6 HEALTH The anti-tobacco posters are in and I must say they did a great job. Fingers crossed we have a winner this year. Smoking is not good no matter how you look at it in any matter, shape or form. We looked at all the different ways in which nicotine is made available. We looked at the effects that it has on the body, and how it can be seen as a disease. We talked about why you shouldn’t start and how you can help someone quit and why it is very hard for people to quit. We had Ellen Miller, DAA come in and speak to the group about cyberbullying and bullying in general and how to stay safe when using technology.
GRADE 7 HEALTH Since we are talking about the human body and all of our systems in Science class, we tied it into Health and our circulatory and respiratory system. We learned how smoking slows down the process of blood flow and how oxygen transport can cause a lot of damage to several different body parts and systems. We had Ellen Miller, DAA come in and speak to the group about cyberbullying and bullying in general and how to stay safe when using technology.
