Assumption school students participate in a science fair with the top three top projects in each participating grade presenting further at the diocesen level Worcester Science Fair.
This is a bi-annual event open to students in grades 5- 8. Extrants exhibit their projects to their peers, a team of judges, and the public. This experience provides students with an opportunity to pursue some aspect of science in which he or she is interested, and to become actively involved in the scientific process.
General Guidelines on the Diocesan level
Each School may send 3 projects from each participating grade.
The diocese of Worcester strongly supports the use of direct inquiry as a method and process for learning the discipline of science.
Students in grades 5 through 8 may enter the diocesan science fair with an experimentally based project which utilizes the scientific method only. No research based projects for any grade levels this year.
