Hello Assumption music family

 

The COVID guidelines are the most strict for music and physical education. This will severely impact band and chorus as we knew it.

 

Chorus must be with masks (very hard to breathe) and 10 feet social distancing. This has resulted in no chorus rehearsals or singing at Mass for the foreseeable future.  

The guidelines for band are that no brass or woodwind instruments can be played indoors. Places like Sutton are cancelling music completely.

 

No way I’m letting that happen.

 

For band and chorus, I will leave Assumption at 3 PM and start Zoom lessons at 3:30. I have included chorus students because I would like to offer vocal lessons along with instrumental lessons.  

 

Lessons will be on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 3:30 - 6, with the possibility of adding time from 7-8 PM. My rates will be the same, $12 for a 15 minute lesson and $24 for a half hour lesson. Each month I will email you a bill for the lessons and you can just send me a check or pay using Zelle or PayPal.
 

All band members must take lessons somewhere, because it is impossible to learn an instrument without help. Chorus students do not need to take lessons, but with so many chorus members who have been in chorus for so many years, I wanted to include voice lessons.  

 

As usual, I would like to give the returning students first choice on times. Times will be given on a “first come, first served” basis, so please respond as soon as you know what works for you. On the first week of school I will see if there is any interest from “newbies”.
