Educating the Whole Child:
Mind, Body and Spirit.
The year continues to speed on! Quarter 2 found us subtracting 4 digit numbers, learning our multiplication facts from 0–5, the Zero, Identity, and Commutative Properties of Multiplication, not to mention reviewing time to the nearest minute as well as elapsed time. Grade 3 has transitioned to all cursive writing. Practice makes perfect and our cursive improves daily! Chemistry was fun learning about elements, compounds, and atoms. It was very exciting observing the difference between a chemical change and a physical change. We just started Physics and are learning about the mass of objects and how to measure mass using a balance and gram centimeter cubes. Intermediate direc-tions and hemispheres are terms we need to know to help us locate things more easily. We had a blast learning our song “Herman the Worm” for the Variety Show and did a great job performing it. Looking ahead to learning about weather, division, and persuasive writing.
